In Florida, you can harvest three fish measuring 12 or more, whereas, in other states like Georgia, you can harvest up to 15. Where are bluefish found They spend a lot of their time in oceanic waters but they move inshore to coastal areas, mainly to feed on schools of mackerel, and to avoid larger predatory species (tunas, sharks and billfishes). Monroe County follows Atlantic restrictions. Bluefish size and bag limit depend on where you are targeting the fish. Bluefish are a fast growing fish, they can grow to be over 20 lbs, and they live for over a decade. The Florida bluefish minimum fork length is 12 inches, with a bag limit of ten fish for the Gulf and three fish for the Atlantic. Snapper Species (includes many species, please see list) The slot size in the Gulf of Mexico is 28-33 inches (Monroe County not included), which is closed from December 1-end of February and May 1-August 31.
